Costa Rica Real Estate: Living it Up in Costa Rica

May 5, 2009 - One of the main reasons to purchase real estate in Costa Rica is for the fun and relaxing atmosphere that defines the Costa Rica lifestyle. And one doesn't need to go to the beach to take it all in! In the capital city of San Jose and the surrounding areas, there are tons of great places and restaurants to relax or have fun with friends.

As an American, I was a bit apprehensive at first about what to expect. Not speaking fluent Spanish, I didn't know the first thing about the Costa Rica nightlife or where the hot spots were. Luckily, most cab drivers do speak English, and are more than willing to offer suggestions for any occasion.

Within a few weeks, I was able to experience a wide variety of local restaurants and clubs. One of the best things about Costa Rica is the weather, and because it's predictably perfect, there are many outdoor patios available for dining. In fact, I made it a weekly occurrence to enjoy a few hours reading a book and enjoying a bottle of wine on a weekend afternoon at different outdoor eateries. The Costa Rica cost of living is so low that you could realistically spend no more than $10 for lunch, wine and a few hours of relaxation.

If clubbing or night life is your thing, than Costa Rica is the perfect place to live. Most clubs won't shut their doors until 6:00am, and tha's if they close their doors at all! You're never more than a quick five-minute cab ride away from a great dance club, and every night feels like a Saturday evening. And of course, it couldn't be easier to find a cab afterwards for a safe ride home.

As far as eating, there is a perfect mixture of local cuisine mixed in with the normal American staples. And if you have the craving for some good old American fast food, all the mainstays (McDonald's, Burger King, Taco Bell, Denny's, Pizza Hut and Papa John's to name a few) are not only located throughout the city, but will deliver to your door!

Having several options for fun should be a major factor when considering purchasing real estate, and Costa Rica delivers big time. Even if you are new to Costa Rica, you can check out websites, ask the locals, or get recommendations from the cab drivers to find your new favorite hangout. Remember, you're not just purchasing a new home, you're looking for a great place to live!

And this is just another great reason to purchase Costa Rica Real Estate!
